What is a DID?
A DID is a decentralized identifier (DID) that has been anchored on the KILT blockchain.
A decentralized identifier is a unique set of numbers and letters that uniquely identifies an identity (as, for example, a fingerprint does for a person) in a verifiable, decentralized way.
For example,
did:kilt:4osWE8qx9preLb5WsfmcECmdeNc85RZV4rVuJjpe93eMZ6qc
In KILT, identity is built by adding credentials to the DID.
A DID can be used for people, machines, services and anything that identities can be built on.
